Daily Doodle!

Haven't done one for a while. Today was a witness interview at work, which for some reason inspired me to draw a caricature of myself dressed as Simba from The Lion King on Broadway wearing the headdress that my girlfriend made for me a few Christmases ago. I put myself in my (former) muscly swimmer body. Those were the days. Le sigh.

Kenya Photo Dump!

For your viewing pleasure, here are some photos from Kenya! They go backward chronologically: those near the top are from the Masai Mara, the middle are from Lake Nakuru, and the bottom are from Samburu National Reserve.

Tangled!

You know what? I'm actually excited about a Disney animated film. I haven't felt that way since...I don't know...Tarzan?

Tangled looks to be very enjoyable, and here's a sneak 'making-of'!

It's Nice to Know Someone Still Appreciates the Golden Girls

Remember The Golden Girls? If you are under the age of twenty, you definitely don't. I'm 24 and I barely do. Still, reminiscing the wacky adventures of Blanche, Rose, Dorothy, and Sophia in the late 80's and early 90's just gets me rolling. Before them, everyone thought that old ladies were only good for giving you cookies and earning you merit badges. Now we know that you can laugh at them too, like normal people. Thanks Golden Girls!

Alas, of the original girls, only Betty White survives (and hosts SNL!). However, as a fitting tribute, artist Ginger Williams has memorialized our favorite retirettes in the form of nesting dolls:

Self Portrait

There are some things I'm trying to figure out right now-personal, professional, spiritual-but the caricatured me comes across as much more desperate than I am at the moment. Oh, well.

Bye, Bye Mr. Wildebeest Guy

One thing that happens when you go on safari is that you see incredible animals. You expect to catch them doing normal things like sleeping and walking around a little. They'll be grazing if they're herbivores. They'll be pooping.

They won't be hunting.

Hunting is one of those things that you see on National Geographic specials, not in real life. Sure, lions have to eat, but you have to wait around for days to see them do it.

Well, someone I was traveling with must've had a gold-plated horseshoe up the rear, since we were crazy lucky and were able to see two lions hunt and kill a wildebeest.

The slideshow below stars these two lovely ladies:

And an unfortunate soul who looked a lot like this:

The video is a photo-animation thing with a few captions so you can tell what's going on.

You Too Can Look Like a Pedophile

I seem to have been on a Star Wars kick lately. Seriously, though, products like this are just begging to be displayed to the masses:

I fear, however, that with this mustache I'll look more like a child predator than like Lando.

Photo Dump!

Camel

I have been woefully inadequate in blogging lately, mostly because I went to Egypt and Kenya and am now trying to catch up on everything else in life that falls behind after eighteen days. However, I will be discussing it to some extent, and I'll certainly be doing some photo dumping. Here's the first installment--Egypt!

Boba Fett Roommate

So, I'm in Kenya right now, and I'm going to blog about that when I have some real time. Until then, however, enjoy this video, from Funtime Comedy, starring my friend Ross:
